Never a default

You were never the average.

You don't accept the default anywhere else that matters. Your supplement shouldn't be the exception, we read your gut and build a formula that could only ever be yours.

Your first month is paid at order.

Tim WenischAlexander Rončevićnb1 science team

HYROX World Champions read their gut with nb1. Every formula signed off by our science board.

A personalised nb1 protocol box, printed with the member's own name
Every protocol is built and boxed for one person, printed with their name, dosed to their reading. Yours would look nothing like this one.

The default is a stranger

Off-the-shelf assumes a lot about you. All of it wrong.

Every supplement on a shelf is built for an average gut, a person assembled from a spreadsheet who doesn't actually exist. Same strains, same fibre, same dose, shipped to millions of different bodies and hoped for the best. The label says "everyone." Nobody is everyone.

The shelf

One formula. Everyone.

Dosed for a median that describes no one. If it happens to suit you, that's luck, not design.

Yours

Built from your reading.

Matched to what your gut actually showed, the exact species, the exact gaps. A formula that could belong to no one else.

You don't settle for the default anywhere else. So we stopped building for the average.

What arrives at your door

What's actually in your formula.

From a library of 125+ ingredients, only the ones your biology calls for, each dosed to your gut reading, health insights and medical questionnaire. Never a default.

Your reading typically draws on 15 to 25 of these. Which ones you get, and at what dose, comes from what your gut can actually do. The rest of the library stays on the shelf, never a default.

Nothing here is a default

A formula built around what your gut can actually use.

A shelf formula gives everyone the same strains and the same fibre and hopes for the best. Yours can't work that way. Once we can see what your gut can do, we build one formula for it and nothing else — no two come out the same, because no two readings are. Here's what goes into one, and how every choice gets made.

01First, the basics

The live cultures and prebiotic in your formula, dosed to work as one and decided by your reading.

Live bacteria

Living bacteria you add to the gut, to top up the teams that are running short.

On its own, it washes through.

Prebiotics

The fibre those bacteria feed on. Their food source, nothing more complicated.

Combined

Both together: the exact fibre these strains can use, in the right amount, so they work as one system.

Fed the right fibre, it stays and works.

02The cultures, up close

Living strains, with the evidence to back them.

We do not add generic bacteria. We use strains: specific, named, trademarked versions of a bacterium, each with its own published evidence. Which jobs your formula takes on, and which strains fill them, is decided by your reading. Here is the range, and one job worked in full.

A few of the jobs your reading might call for

and more, as your reading shows

One of them, in detail

Rebuild the bifido base

From your sample Added when your bifidobacteria read below their healthy range.

B. animalis lactis BB-12® The anchor. The most-studied bifido strain there is, and the best at feeding the rest of the chain.
If a metabolic angle B. lactis B420
If stress is in the picture B. longum 1714

Your formula includes only the jobs your reading calls for, each one filled exactly like this.

03Precision prebiotics

A strain we add is only worth adding if we feed it.

Every strain arrives paired with the exact fibre it feeds on. Which fibres, and how much of each, follows how your gut ferments — the same fibre behaves differently in every gut. Generic fibre is a guess. This is matched and measured.

Too littleRight for youToo much

  • GOS
  • Inulin
  • PHGG
  • Beta-glucans

Not in your blend Left out because your reading didn’t call for them.

A few fibres, chosen from dozens. Only the ones your strains can actually use, each paired to the strain it feeds and dosed to the range you handle. Too little does nothing, too much brings the bloat. Two people never get the same blend.

We never start with a formula and look for who it fits. We start with your gut, and let it decide what earns a place.

The board behind your reading

Signed off by people who define the field.

Before a formula is made, it's signed off by a member of our scientific board, drawn from microbiome science, gut immunology, nutrition and bioinformatics. We read 200–400 species per sample, and every result is human-reviewed.

Dr. Polina Novikova

Chief Scientific Officer · PhD Bioinformatics, University of Luxembourg

Polina leads the science behind NB1’s personalised supplementation product, from microbiome analysis and metabolic modelling to the algorithm that maps individual gut data into a precise, clinically grounded protocol.

She holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Luxembourg (2020–2024) and an MS in Integrated Systems Biology. Her doctoral research built computational workflows using graphs, time-series models, and deep learning to identify patterns in gut microbiome and multi-omics data.

A supplement should be a readout of your biology, not a guess at the average. Our job is to turn what your gut is actually doing into a protocol that’s precise enough to trust.

Full Professor, Nutrition & Immunology · ZIEL Institute Director · Technical University of Munich

Prof. Haller holds the Chair of Nutrition and Immunology at TU Munich and directs the ZIEL Institute for Food & Health. His research focuses on how the gut microbiome influences chronic disease susceptibility and how diet shapes microbial communities at the molecular level.

He has been recognised with the distinguished €100,000 United European Gastroenterology Research Prize.

The gut microbiome sits upstream of so much of our long-term health. The science is finally precise enough to act on the individual, not the population, and that’s exactly where NB1 is working.

After twenty-five years studying these microbes, what convinces me is rigour: sequencing depth, reproducibility, and honest interpretation. That’s the standard I hold NB1’s science to.

A microbiome sample is only as good as the analysis behind it. Reading the functions, not just the names, of the species present is what turns raw data into something you can actually formulate against.

Everything has to hold up to clinical scrutiny. If a result wouldn’t survive the standards of a proper trial, it has no business shaping someone’s protocol.

We read your gut, build a formula that's yours alone, and recalibrate it every cycle. There's a four-month minimum, because biology takes that long to shift.
