The lab · how we read you

We read 1,217 organisms. Then we build.

Read that deeply and you stop guessing at which bacteria are there, and start knowing what each one can do. That is the difference between a formula for you and a formula for someone roughly like you.

Method governed by a seven-person science board. Meet them →

We are not a probiotic. We are one of one.

Easier to say what we are not. Three things this is regularly mistaken for, and why none of them is it.

Not a probiotic.

One blend of bacteria, made the same for everyone, decided long before anyone looked at a single gut. Convenient for whoever is making it. Ours is chosen strain by strain from your sample.

Not a synbiotic.

A synbiotic pairs bacteria with fibre, which is right in principle and generic in practice. We pair each strain with the fibre it feeds on, at the dose your gut ferments.

Not a stack.

A stack is what you build yourself out of labels, forum threads and hope. This is one formula, built from a reading, signed off by a scientist before it is made.

What it is.

One formula, built from your own reading. Live cultures, the fibres that feed them, and the vitamins and minerals your levels call for — nothing in it your biology did not ask for.

Your gut

The deep read

We find out exactly which bacteria are in your gut, and what each one can do. Everything in your formula starts here.

Every plan

Your intake

What you want to work on, what you already take, and anything a doctor should know. So your formula fits your life.

Every plan

Your blood

A blood test shows which of your levels sit lower than average, and your formula is built around that. Measured again next cycle.

Advanced
Your formula

Nothing goes into your formula without a reason.

Most gut tests read who's there. We read what they can do.

The same gut. The same microbes, read two completely different ways.

A technician loading a 96-well plate into a benchtop sequencer

Four hundred Latin names, and the rest is your problem.

That is what most microbiome tests deliver for around €150. A list, a percentage beside each name, and a cheerful note about eating more fibre. It looks like science. It is an inventory.

What €150 usually buys
  • Bacteroides uniformis8.4%
  • Faecalibacterium prausnitzii6.1%
  • Prevotella copri5.7%
  • Eubacterium rectale4.9%
  • Bacteroides vulgatus4.3%
  • Roseburia intestinalis3.8%
+ 390 more species

Impressive to look at. Impossible to act on. And that is the entire deliverable.

An inventory is not an analysis.

Knowing you carry 4.3% Bacteroides vulgatus is trivia until someone works out what it is doing, who it is doing it with, and whether that is a problem. Most of the category stops before that, because a list is cheap to produce and looks like proof. We read it three ways instead.

  1. 01
    Sorted into teams

Not by name. By the job each species actually performs, then checked against the range that job should sit in.

  2. 02
    Weighed as ratios

Because a team can be the right size and still be losing. Four ratios show whether the cascade is doing its job.

  3. 03
    Settled into one score

Five pillars, one number, and the name of your weakest pillar. That is the one your formula is built to move.

Every gut is unique. The patterns behind them are not.

Across more than 8,000 studied guts, the same symptoms keep tracing back to the same eight mechanisms. Each one needs a different formula.

What is actually going on

Protein fermentation running hot

The protein-fermenting team has grown past its range. That tips the gut toward protein for fuel, which usually shows up as more gas and a less favourable mix of by-products.

The 200–400 species in your sample, sorted into six teams by the job they do and checked against each team’s healthy range.

We build it

A formula built around what your gut can actually use.

Once we can see what your gut can do, we build one formula for it and nothing else. No two formulas come out the same, because no two readings are. Here is what goes into one, and how every choice gets made.

  1. 01First, the basics

The live cultures and prebiotic in your formula, dosed to work as one and decided by your reading.

On its own, it washes through + = Fed the right fibre, it stays and works
    Live cultures

Living bacteria you add to the gut, to top up the teams that are running short.

    Prebiotics

The fibre those bacteria feed on. Their food source, nothing more complicated.

    Combined

Both together: the exact fibre these strains can use, in the right amount, so they work as one system.

  2. 02The cultures, up close

Every strain we use, by name.

We do not add generic bacteria. We use strains: specific, named, trademarked versions of a bacterium, each with its own published research. A label that reads “probiotic blend” is naming none of this. Here is every one we work with.

One formula draws on a handful of these, chosen by your reading, never by what we have in stock.

  3. 03Precision prebiotics

A strain we add is only worth adding if we feed it.

Every strain arrives paired with the exact fibre it feeds on. Which fibres, and how much of each, follows how your gut ferments — the same fibre behaves differently in every gut. Generic fibre is a guess. This is matched and measured.

A few fibres, chosen from dozens. Only the ones your strains can actually use, each paired to the strain it feeds and dosed to the range you handle. Too little does nothing, too much brings the bloat. Two people never get the same blend.

Advanced only A blood panel then tunes these doses to levels we can measure, rather than to symptoms. What Advanced adds →

Every item traces back to something we read or something you told us. Nothing is in there by default.

Core reads you once. Advanced keeps reading.

Everything above is in every plan. Advanced adds three things, and they work as one loop: we measure again, we rebuild from the new numbers, and we add a blood panel so the doses land on measured levels rather than on how you say you feel.

Advanced only
Every cycle

The retest

We re-read your gut and your blood on the same methods, so the new numbers are comparable to the old ones rather than a fresh opinion.

  • The same eight patterns, re-scored
  • Your blood markers, measured again
  • Your overall score, measured again
  • You see what moved, and by how much
Every cycle

A rebuilt formula

Your formula is not topped up from the last one. It is built again from the new reading, so strains and doses follow where your gut has actually got to.

  • Strains that did their job are stepped down
  • Levels that read low pull in what they need
  • Fibres re-matched to how you now ferment
From cycle one

The blood panel

Your gut read says what your microbes can do. A blood panel says what actually reached you, so doses land on measured levels instead of on symptoms.

  • Vitamin D3, the most common shortfall
  • Homocysteine, for B-vitamin need
  • Omega-3 index and ferritin

You can start on Core and move up at any cycle boundary. Your existing reading carries over, so nothing is re-collected and nothing restarts.

The minds behind your formula.

The science here is young, and reading a gut this deeply sits at its edge. So we built a board to govern it: researchers who design the method, run it, and check it from outside, and hold every formula to what the evidence backs, not what a label would like to claim.
